Hello Second Grade Families!

I hope you and your family are well.  I am excited to begin our new learning plan this week.

Your student will watch lessons recorded by all second grade teachers throughout the rest of the year.  Here is an introductory video of all second grade teachers from EP Clark, Lincoln, and Brown.

I've created a one page site that will house all lessons for the week.  You can easily bookmark this site for your child to access independently.  All lessons and necessary links are on the one page.  Here is an introductory video for your student to watch so they know what is on the website and how it works. Our outstanding students have really been working on math in IXL.  50,000 math problems!  I am thrilled and know that your child will be excited to see this certificate too.




Prodigy

Many students have requested a Prodigy account.  Prodigy is an interactive math program.  Students love practicing their math while playing this game.  If your child wants to give it a try, I have everyone signed up.  Your child will access the Prodigy icon through the Brown School Symbaloo.  Our class code is D4BEBC

1. Go to the Brown School Symbaloo
2. Click on Prodigy
3. Click Log in
4. Click Log in with Google
5. Your student needs to sign in with their google account.  Their google account is their usernumber@stjoebears.com.  Their password is Bears123.
6. Click I Want A New Account 
7. Click Student and Continue
8. Type in the Class Code, which is D4BEBC

Your child should be all set.  They will create a wizard and name it.  Then, it is time to play and practice math.

January 27, 2020

Handwriting Students are so excited to begin cursive.  This week we are practicing basic strokes- undercurve, overcurve, and downcurve. I sure could feel your students’ energy as they arrived this morning.  It sounds like families had a wonderful break. I’m so happy to be back with your child, teaching full time.  We could use some extra help in the classroom.
